Who We Are...

AMVETS Mission Statement is to enhance and safe guard the earned benefits of all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and communities where they live through leadership, advocacy, and service.

AMVETS is a contraction of American Veterans.  It is open to anyone who is currently serving, or has honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces from World War II to present, to include those in the National Guard and Reserves.  AMVETS was formed in December 1944.  President Truman signed the organizations congressional charter in 1947.
